Why rottweiler tail is cut?

Since very few Rottweilers work as working dogs today, most anchored tails are due to show purpose or aesthetics. A good reason why some people choose to cut their tails is because they want their Rottie to be a protective dog. When a protective dog approaches a stranger who wags its tail, the image of the big bad rottweiler diminishes. By cutting off its tail it is difficult to determine if the dog is kind or is about to defend its family.

Let's be honest, a big dog like a Rottweiler wagging its tail or not should make anyone hesitate to enter the property uninvited. Rottweilers are believed to be descended from the herding dogs of ancient Rome. These dogs were used by the Romans as cattle dogs, and also to protect camps, like their namesake Rottweil in Germany. Rottweilers are territorial and very protective, requiring a high degree of training on the part of the owner.

Rottweilers are a medium to large breed, with great strength, agility and power. Rottweilers usually have their tails tied at birth, which means the tail is too short. Historically, this was done on working dogs to avoid tail injuries. There is a movement against docking, suggesting that in modern times this practice is no longer necessary.

In fact, some countries, such as England and Germany, have declared docking illegal. Most Rottweilers are born with tails. There are some natural round-tailed Rottweilers, although they are very rare. However, most of the Rottweilers you see today had their tails cut off when they were puppies.

The practice of the Rottweiler has become a common practice in the Rottweiler thanks to generations of grazing and protection work. Nowadays, glue coupling is mainly done for cosmetic purposes. Today, some Rottweilers are still working dogs and their tails are anchored to reduce the risk of injury. However, for the most part, an attached glue is cosmetic today, and it's the look we expect from a Rottweiler.

So much so that the AKC considers the attached tail to be the breed standard for Rottweilers. A Rottweiler's natural tail can send a quick message of happiness, sadness, aggressiveness or joy. Believe it or not, the Rottweilers were responsible for transporting profits to the bank for many butchers. Looking back in your mind, you've probably noticed that you've seen both Rottweilers with tails and Rottweilers without tails.

A rottweiler with a tail will be able to express their emotions, while rottweilers with a hooked tail are often misunderstood. In the past, the Romans believed that putting together a dog's tail could prevent the dog from contracting viral diseases, such as rabies. Therefore, it becomes even more important to understand the rest of the ways in which they speak to us and a rottweiler with a tail will convey the message much more clearly. It is pertinent to note that it is forbidden to attach the tail of a Rottweiler in its country of origin, Germany.

In fact, the Allgenmeiner Deutscher Rottweiler-Klub (ADRK), the main German organization that defends the integrity of the breed, states in its regulations that the tail must be “in natural conditions”. I have been breeding Rottweilers for many years and, in my quest to find the best of the best, searching all over the world, I liked the look of a Rottweiler with a tail. As you can see, for many generations of Rottweilers, breeders have respected the tail coupling standard on their puppies. The truth is, if you want to buy a Rottweiler puppy as a pet and companion, its tail shouldn't be a big problem.

Of all the dog breeds that people usually cut their tails off, the rottweiler usually has the shortest bundle.
